Why can’t I resist the urge?

Last night, I started a new project using a discontinued colorway (Amber) from Tanis Fiber Arts. The range of oranges and browns reminds me so much of Autumn and they are some of my mom’s very favorite colors. This is my first time using a cashmere blend yarn and I’m excited to report that this is the softest skein of yarn I’ve ever used. If you haven’t tried Tanis’s Purple Label yet, then you gotta give it a try!

So, what am I making? What is the new project that has caught my attention and left my other projects begging to be finished? Kristel Nyberg’s Less Is More Cowl. I love the lace/rib design of this cowl and so far, it is super easy to knit.  This cowl will become a present for my mom once it’s complete and I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she opens this gift Christmas morning.  (Don’t worry…. she doesn’t read my blog so I have no fear that this suprise will be spoiled.)

Still, I have so many projects that I’m working on and just not enough time to complete them all, so why do I always give in to the urge of starting a new project….?  Maybe it’s that moment when I can see my handknit taking shape.  Or watching the tonal shades of yarn blending together to create a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.  Whatever the reason, I will always have grounds for starting something new.  (no matter how much time I don’t have to spend on it!)
